Nuffield Canada Scholarship
Nuffield Canada searches out enthusiastic individuals with a passion for agriculture and a desire to expand your knowledge, pursue new ideas and to share your findings with others.
Nuffield Canada has been operating for over 50 years supporting farmers and agricultural industries. The purpose of the group is to foster agricultural leadership and personal development through individual study. Nuffield Canada is part of an international group of Nuffield affiliates operating in the United Kingdom, The Republic of Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, France and Zimbabwe.
Desired scholarship candidates are mid-career, between the ages of 30 and 45 (although exceptions are made) with a minimum of five years of agricultural business or farming experience. The scholarships are open to participants of all forms of agriculture, as well as non-farming agricultural professionals such as journalists, trade group representatives and non-profit organizations. Scholarships are not available to those involved in full-time studies or for the purpose of furthering research projects. Scholars join the 1,500 alumni who continue to be engaged with developing agriculture around the world.
Scholarships are awarded each year, with three scholarships of $15,000 each available in 2012. The funding is intended for farmers to travel within Canada and globally, to explore an area of farming interest in order to improve operations at home, while also developing on a personal level. There are no prerequisites of education or past awards, only the pledge that this opportunity will be used to contribute to and innovate agriculture in Canada. Applications are due by April 30.
